Dây xích nặng trĩu

Và anh đến chợ nô lệ

I went to the market for birds

I went to the market for flowers

And I bought some flowers 

For you  

my love 

I went to the market for iron 

And I bought some chains 

Heavy chains 

For you 

my love 

And then I went to the market of slaves

And I searched for you 

But I did not find you 

My love.
